Alpha hydroxy acids - Natural Mixed Fruit Acids

They help to minimize photo-damaged skin, which is a major contributing factor to ageing and can be a great boon to promoting younger looking skin, minimizing the effect of ageing.
They rid the skin of unnecessary dead cells, and also have a moisturizing effect on the skin, by increasing the moisture content of the upper skin and so smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reducing dryness and combating flakiness.
Long-term use of low concentration AHA's can also increase collagen and elastin synthesis, and also boost protein regeneration in the skin.

Beta hydroxy acid - Salicylic acid

This natural extract not only has anti-microbial properties but is also a great anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory ingredient that helps to improve skin thickness, the skin barrier functions, collagen production as well as cell renewal.
Some people have reported a side effect from using salicylic acid - but this has always proven to be from using a synthetic salicylic acid, and for that reason we use natural salicylic acid, obtained from willow bark, which does NOT have this side effect.
Salicylic acid, as apposed to alpha hydroxy acid, has the power to penetrate and clean out the inside of the pores, effectively reducing blemishes, blackheads and whiteheads, while at the same time removing dead cells.
BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) - which is what Salicylic Acid is classed as - vary from Alpha Hydroxy Acids as it penetrates into the pores to work its magic - while AHA cannot. So where AHA can help cleanse the rest of the skin, the salicylic acid - being a Beta Hydroxy Acid - can help to clean within the pores.

Jojoba

This natural long chained ester is a wonderful moisturizing and hydrating ingredient that causes no tackiness and has a natural affinity to the skin.
It is exceptionally good to prevent trans-dermal water loss and enhances the flexibility and suppleness of the skin, while minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.
It is quickly absorbed by the skin and helps the skin to balance sebum production - which assists in naturally lubricating the skin and keeping it feeling soft and smooth.

Apricot kernel oil

It is finely textured oil that is easily absorbed by the skin and apricot kernel oil is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin, helping to soothe inflammation.

Horse Chestnut Extract

This extract has a direct influence on improving the health of veins and capillaries in the skin, which in turn leads to proper circulation and maximum skin functioning.
It has a strengthening effect on the venous system, and prevents capillary fragility – which could result in "leaking" and so cause edema (water retention) within the skin, which in turn leads to an uneven looking skin.
Apart from this, it inhibits collagenase and elastase in the skin – and therefore leads to healthier collagen and supportive skin structure, that in turn results in a healthier younger looking skin, while at the same time fighting inflammatory conditions, which if left unchecked, could lead to premature aging.

Grape seed

This ingredient is not only an excellent emollient, but helps to tone the skin with its astringent qualities and is extremely high in antioxidants.

Centella asiatica

This herbal extract has a very positive effect on increasing circulation in the skin as well as assisting with the proper functioning and formation of collagen by modulating the action of the fibroblast.
It has good anti-oxidant properties and helps to improve the firmness, tone and elasticity of the skin, thereby improving the appearance of the skin in general.
Furthermore, it promotes vein and capillary health in the skin and is a good general tonic for the skin.

Rosehip

This ingredient helps to boost the regeneration of the skin while increasing elasticity. Apart from this it has good astringent and diuretic properties, which work well together to promote a healthy looking skin.

Neroli

Neroli oil is helpful with rejuvenating the skin, and also to help combat broken veins, while at the same time positively influencing skin elasticity.

Evening primrose

This light oil is high in gamma linolenic acid and is most beneficial as an emollient and moisturizing agent.
It supports anti-aging though its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions, reducing skin redness and also having a healing effect on the skin.

Carrot seed

It stimulates cell growth and is of particular benefit when fighting the ravages of aging. It furthermore helps to remove toxic wastes and eliminates excess water from the tissue.

Lavender

It has antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral, anti-toxic and anti-inflammatory properties, while at the same time stimulating cell growth and balancing the production of oil in the skin.

Rose

This is excellent in promoting better skin tone, improved elasticity and an even colored complexion. It furthermore sooths irritated skin and boosts circulation.

St. John's Wort extract

This well-known herb is great for fighting skin inflammation and boosting wound healing, fighting dermatitis.

Bisabolol

Not only does Bisabolol have a great anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory effect on the skin, but it also contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, to help ensure skin health.

Gingko biloba

One of the greatest effects of Ginkgo biloba is the fact that it helps to increase circulation and tissue irrigation while at the same time boosting collagen formation as well as the creation of fibroblast - needed for a firm, young looking skin.

Frankincense

Frankincense helps to rejuvenate the skin by encouraging the growth of skin cells and has an all-over tonic effect, while reducing inflammation as well. It furthermore has antiseptic, astringent and diuretic properties.

Hemp seed oil

This ingredient has superb moisturizing and hydrating properties, thereby fighting dehydration of the skin, boosting the lowered levels of ceramides in more mature skin.

Pumpkin seed oil

We included this in our formulation as it has great lubricating properties and also prevents moisture loss.

Myrrh

Chamomile

This herb helps to balance the production of oil in the skin and also has astringent properties to help tone the skin. Apart from this, it also has antiseptic and antibacterial properties.

Silk amino acids

This exotic ingredient has excellent water binding properties, which helps to prevent dehydration of the skin. On top of this, it also has good antioxidant qualities.
