Benefits of heather in skin care products prevent aging

The extract we use has good anti-inflammatory properties REF 57 and assists in the general heath and proper cellular functioning of the cell REF 56, while having excellent anti-aging qualities, as it has been shown to inhibit elastase, which is an enzyme that degrades proteins - such as elastin, contained in the skin, resulting in an aged skin.

It has been part of Scottish folk medicine and has also been used in Sweden for traditional medicinal use.

It contains flavone glucosides, quercitrin, myricitrin, arbutin, 7% tannin, salicylic acid and an alkaloid ericodin.

Classification of heather as a cosmetic ingredient prevent aging

Calluna vulgare extract is an extract of the flowering shoots of the heather, Calluna vulgaris. It is classified as a biological product, but has not yet been allocated a functioning group in the 2004 INCI dictionary. It is also known as heather extract, extract of calluna vulgaris and ling extract.
